March 10/11 2018 Spruce Grove Soccer’s U12 Girls travelled to Calgary for the annual inter-city finals.

Janet Zaplotinsky’s U12 girl’s team travelled to Calgary to play 3 games against both Calgary and Edmonton teams to determine the final league placing.

Saturday morning the girls faced Calgary’s MUSC Pride winning the game 2-1. Later Saturday afternoon the Royal’s played Edmonton’s Summerside team, it was aggressive play with a few injuries with our girl’s losing 0-3. Sunday was the last game we the Royal’s played another Calgary team – CSWU Blaze winning 4-0. In the end, there was a three-way tie between the Royal’s, Summerside and Calgary’s MUSC Pride.  Officials looked at a few different parameters predetermined for tiebreakers and our Royal’s became the Second Place winners of the 2018 Inter-city Finals.
