Spruce Grove Saints’ Premier Soccer Program

Our premier teams are designed for players who want to challenge themselves.
Our premier teams are designed for highly skilled, motivated players who are committed, both physically and mentally, to developing their game in a challenging, competitive environment. These teams attract driven athletes who are eager to push themselves and perform at a higher level.
Premier teams typically begin training a few weeks earlier than community teams, allowing for additional preparation and development.
Depending on their age group and their league standing at the end of the regular season, their season could last 4-6 weeks longer than our In-House or Community programs. Most of our premier teams also play in two or more tournaments during the season. There may be costs, in addition to registration fees, that teams may ask for to participate in tournaments and/or training.
Premier teams are formed on the basis of tryouts, not all who try out are guaranteed a spot on a team.

* A $200 volunteer deposit is charged for each family. Upon completing a volunteer shift or acting as a team official for a season, the deposit will be returned. When first registering, your player will be charged a base fee (community fee) for their age group. Once they are accepted to club, a club top up fee will be applied to their account.
** Some weeks, players may have more than 1 game and may play on a day other than their main playing days. Games are played in Spruce Grove and the Edmonton area. Some teams may need to travel to Red Deer once a season for a game.
Premier Teams U9 – U19 PrOgram Overview
Players will participate in motivating practices and games to advance their technical and practical skills. Some examples of increased individual development as part of the premier program include increasing dribbling skills, using all parts of the foot, changing direction, improving in passing, positioning on the pitch, tactical thinking, and team communication, etc. The team environment emphasizes fun, skill, and team development. Coaches are provided with opportunities for coaching development.
Part of each premier player’s fees is allocated towards their team’s technical budget. This budget is used to book sessions with our specialized vendors in a multitude of different areas, including technical training, strength and conditioning, nutrition, and sports and performance psychology. Team officials tailor a team’s tech needs to their players’ needs.
